How We Began.
In 1987 a couple of intrepid travellers (Beryl and Peter Shore) got lost, deep in the Nepalese Chitwan Jungle. However, luck was on their side in the form of a young boy scout called Hari Bhandary. He gained their confidence and let them know that his intentions were honourable, and rescued them from their plight. He persuaded them to come to his family home, fed, watered, and let them have his sleeping space on the floor. The following day they parted, Hari refusing any payment for his hospitality but he did have a simple request, could he write? So the correspondence began.
In 1996 Hari explained that he has a dream of ‘providing a medical centre for his Village’ because both his parents had caught tuberculosis and could not walk the 23kms to the nearest free facility.
Beryl and Peter with Hari began the clinic and have been supporting it all along the way.
Nowadays many people are involved in the clinic. The chairman is Kevin Shore and many medical students and trained doctors visit from all around the world visit the clinic to help and learn about the work done.
